Gary Slaughter will read and sign Cottonwood Summer ’45 from 6-7pm on Thursday, June 28th.

Cottonwood Springwas to have been the final novel in Gary Slaughter’s award-winning Cottonwood series. However, to delight of his pleasantly-surprised readers, he has produced yet another critically-acclaimed fifth volume, Cottonwood Summer ’45. In his talk, Gary will explain why he decided to write “The Fifth Cottonwood.” In doing so, he will reacquaint us with his alluring assortment of lovable characters based on the colorful people he observed growing up on the World War II home front in Owosso, Michigan. Once again, Danny and Jase return in starring roles. John Seigenthaler called these young heroes, “This generation’s Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.”
